Expressions of interest for players for Youth Girls Team

The Southern Districts Football Club is asking for expressions of interest from players and parents to enter a Youth Girls team into the NTFL competition this upcoming season. Players must be female at least 12 years old and not turning 16 years old before December 31st 2014. The team will play on Sundays at various locations around Darwin including Norbuilt Oval, Fred’s Pass Reserve, between the months of October 2014 and March 2015 with a break of over the Christmas School holidays. The team will field 15 players and 5 players on the interchange each game. Games are four by 15 minute quarters.

A meeting will be held for all players, parents and other interested persons on Wednesday the 27th of August at 5:30pm at Norbuilt Oval Freds Pass Reserve. We are currently looking for people in the following various roles: Coaches, Team Manager, Sports Trainers, Time keepers, Runners, Water Persons and Goal Umpires.

The SDFC has a strong focus on development of players, coaches, umpires and support staff and training is delivered by the club and the AFLNT for all interested persons.

Crocs Sign On Day

The Southern Districts Football Club Sign On Day will be held on Saturday the 6th of September between 10am and 1pm at Norbuilt Oval, Freds Pass Reserve.  All current, past and future players for all grades are invited to come along. We also need many parents and family and friends of players or supporters to help out as well so please let us know how you can help out this season. Memberships will be available for Players, Supporters and Families.

The commencement or juniors training will be announced on the Sign On Day.

For all persons interested in playing for the above SDFC teams in the 2014/15 season, training has commenced at Norbuilt Oval, Freds Pass Reserve as of Tuesday the 27th of July. The Committee is particularly interested in your focus on skill development strategies and tactics and your dedication to developing our local talent.

The club has a keen focus on providing all coaching staff and volunteers with accredited training and Personal Development opportunities in line with its Strategic Plan for 2014 – 2018.
